To
determine the size, measure the diameter
of the bottle neck -- to the OUTSIDE edges
of the porcelain -- not the interior opening.
The plate should cover the outside edge
of the porcelain, if possible. A little
shy or little over is ok. They don't have
to fit precisely.
Smalls
are quite popular and fit the majority of
bottles.
All
the corks are the same size. Since the openings
of bottles vary greatly, you can custom
fit
the stoppers by FILING the corks with an
emery board. DO NOT USE A KNIFE OR RAZOR
BLADE. File
using a fair amount of pressure, but not
too vigorously -- corks are soft and can
fragment.
Rotate the stopper as you file to obtain
a nice round configuration and a perfect
fit.
